Our Approach

A Considered Process,
Followed In Order

We take the time to understand your needs, your goals and your preferences before any
recommendation is made. What follows is the process we use with every client, whether the
question is a single policy or the whole of a family’s financial position.

01

Initial Contact

  • We begin with a conversation about where you are now and where you would like to be. We take a brief summary of your circumstances, and we establish what plans and policies you already hold.
  • Signing a single authorisation allows us to gather that information on your behalf, which saves you assembling it yourself.

02

Reviewing Your Position

  • We look more closely at your goals and at what has to be true for them to be met. We assess both your appetite for risk and your capacity to bear it, which are not the same thing.
  • We then set out the options in outline, so you can see the shape of what is possible before anything is narrowed down.

03

Preparing Our Recommendations

  • We use what we have gathered to build a strategy for your circumstances, searching the market across products and providers rather than working from a fixed range.
  • We establish a realistic timescale for putting it in place.

04

Discussing Our Recommendations

  • We explain what we are recommending and why. We set out the fees, costs and charges that apply, and we agree the next steps with you.
  • Nothing proceeds until you are satisfied that you understand it. How we are paid is set out in full on this site, before you decide anything.

05

Putting The Plan In Place

  • We complete the applications and paperwork with you. This can be done digitally, remotely or in person, whichever suits you.
  • We gather the supporting documentation required, such as identification and bank statements.

06

Reviewing Your Plan

  • We agree how often we will review the plan together, and we provide online access to it where that is appropriate.
  • We confirm who your point of contact is and what other support is available to you. A plan that is never revisited is a plan that has stopped matching the life it was built for.

QUESTIONS WORTH SITTING WITH

When was your financial position last looked at as a whole, rather than one policy at a time?
